Contrapuntal/ parallel- music does not/ does go with images
Diegetic/ non diegetic- natural sound being heard or extra sound effects put on over scene
Off screen/ on screen- cannot see where sound comes from
Voice over- speaking over the scene
Emotion- shown through music and images
Dialogue- how people speak and in what tone
Editing
Transition- how it goes from one shot to another (e.g. straight cut, dissolves, etc)
Order of narrative- order of the scenes (e.g. flashbacks, dreams, etc)
